It’s not a stretch to say that since opening in 2009, Crema Coffee House on 29th and Larimer has elevated Denver’s java scene. Denverites are becoming more mindful of the coffee they sip and the artistry behind the process (scroll to the bottom of this page and watch the “I’ll make you a drink” video).

As of two weeks ago, there’s a new hub: Happy Coffee in the Baker District. You probably won’t recognize it, but this shop is the grown-up version of Salvagetti Bicycle Workshop’s (now closed but dearly loved) bike-thru coffee window on Platte Street. Now on Broadway, in this airy, oh-so-Ace Hotel-ish space, you’ll find beans from Heart Roasters in Portland, Oregon, and Four Barrel in San Francisco. The roasts are light, the flavors are different—floral, fruity, caramely—and I think Denver’s coffee connoisseurs are gonna like it.

Bonus: Check out the toddy brewing in the glass display case.
