It’s a shame more sandwich and pizza lovers haven’t discovered Broomfield’s Urban Bliss Cafe. This three-month-old eatery is difficult to find (it’s tucked inside the Season’s Bliss Event Center) but the lunch-only spot is worth the hunt.

Chef Jim Bernat (of Urban Chefs Grill and Catering and Chicago Jim’s) offers a full menu, but skip the entrées—too many flavors and ingredients—and go straight to the Memphis burger. This half-pound patty comes topped with a juicy stack of slowly smoked pork, caramelized onions, cheddar-jack cheese, homemade pickles, and a squeeze of tangy barbeque sauce. Or, order the Chicago-style homemade Italian beef with warm, fresh Italian rolls stuffed with layers of thinly sliced meat, sautéed sweet peppers, and spicy giardinera. The African crispy chicken sandwich (pictured) is another solid option with chicken, superfresh iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion, and a swipe of melegueta cream sauce.

Tip: Don’t miss the wood-fired Naanza flat bread pizzas piled high with ingredients like house-cured bacon, house-smoked pork, or Colorado green chile.
