Now that it’s November, it may finally be cool enough to wear one of fall’s biggest trends: leather. Skin has been in for the past few years—and we’re continuing to see a lot of tough yet chic pieces—but this season’s versions have simpler silhouettes and cleaner details. Whether you dress the look up for night or down for day, here are my favorite picks around town:

Leather is definitely an investment. If you’re searching for that perfect biker jacket—a modern wardrobe staple—opt for a sleek version like this asymmetrical wool and leather one by Mackage (pictured, above).

Looking for less of a splurge? Try a more versatile option like this leather and jersey knit draped cardigan by Michael Stars (pictured, right). Simply throw it on over your favorite tank top, T-shirt, or dress.

Get it: $298, The Garment District, 2595 S. Colorado Blvd., 303-757-3371, garmentdistrictcolorado.com

Equestrian wear has been big this season (just check out these boots from our October issue). A jodhpur–inspired legging, like these by Cartel Noir (pictured, left), pick up on the trend while incorporating leather patches for just the right amount of edge.

Get it: $375, Goldyn, 2040 W. 30th Ave., 720-489-0580, shopgoldyn.com

For those that love the look of leather but find it hard to buy for ethical reasons, go for faux. This fitted, vegan leather and ponti knit dress by Velvet (pictured, right) is sexy and on-trend—and animal-friendly.

Get it: $163, Dragonfly, 3615 W. 32nd Ave., 303-433-6331, facebook.com/DragonflyApparel
