If you tuned in to watch Jeopardy yesterday, the final question may have looked familiar: “Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2013, 5280 magazine is a guide to this city…”

Two contestants knew the correct answer: “What is Denver.” A third contestant wagered $2,801 on “Beijing.”

This isn’t the first time our quirky name—inspired by Denver’s Mile High elevation—has confused people, but it may be the first time that so much money has been wagered on the answer.

Here, three more trivia bits to celebrate our 20th anniversary:

1. The first issue of 5280 was published in July 1993. What was on the cover?

2. 5280‘s first office was where?

3. The magazine has received how many National Magazine Award nominations?

(Answers: 1. For our first issue, our cover highlighted Denver’s Top Doctors, an article that became a perennial favorite. 2. 5280 has had six office locations in Denver, but our first was in the second bedroom of founder Dan Brogan’s home. 3. The magazine has received six National Magazine Award nominations. Read them all here.)
