Prom season is a stressful time for teens. You might have to wrangle up a date, borrow a car, pose for awkward photos, and find the perfect outfit. For some families, this costly one-night event is difficult to fit into the budget.

Denver’s Bella Boutique can offer some relief. Founded by Tia Hunsperger, the nonprofit supplies prom accouterment to those with financial need. From dresses and shoes to purses and jewelry, all of the wares are free and donated entirely by bygone prom veterans. “We want to help those kids make sure they get to go to their proms and cerebrate the end of their education,” Hunsperger says.

Interested? Make an appointment to be paired with a personal shopping assistant to help you find the perfect dress and accessories. Options are limited—this isn’t a big department store—so be flexible. “I always joke that if a girl comes in and wants a yellow dress with pink polka dots and a green sash, we probably won’t have it,” Hunsperger says. “But if they’re just coming in looking for a beautiful dress, we’ve got lots of great options.”

Bella Boutique, 730 17th Street, Suite #110 Saturdays, 9:30 a.m.–1 p.m. 303-656-9665.
