A visit to LoHi’s Reverie Living is like stepping into the imagination of owner Amy McClellan—and trust us, that’s a good thing. Her collection of contemporary home goods and accessories will have you dreaming up ways to refresh your own abode in no time. Here’s how this whimsical spot came to be.

5280 Home: What’s the meaning behind the name “Reverie Living”?

Amy McClellan: We had been batting names around for a few weeks, and one night my husband called me out of my “reverie”—using that exact word—and we knew instantly that it was the perfect name. It resonated because the store is, to a certain extent, my reverie.

You carry goods from all over the world, but what are some of your favorite local products?

Handmade notebooks (bottom)from Sara Blette of Make My Notebook; wood vases, candle holders, and coin or mail catchalls (below) from Dan Sjogren of Sjotime Industries; and handmade throw pillows and scarves from Helen Peterson of Cloth & Ink.

Which home trends are you loving for autumn?

House wares that use a material in a surprising way—such as the concrete candlesticks and rubber bud vases from [Denmark-based] Menu Design.

What drives your collection?

I’m definitely a minimalist when it comes to home decor, which has influenced what we bring to market in the store. To me, the perfect combination is beautiful furniture, art on the walls, and fresh flowers in a pretty vase. What more do you really need?
