Feb 2–15 | FIS Alpine World Ski Championships
In case you’ve somehow missed it (but really, how?), the skiing world championships are coming to Vail and Beaver Creek for the first time they’ve been on U.S. snow in 16 years. There’s more than just skiing (and spectating), though, like free concerts from Michael Franti & Spearhead, CeeLo Green, and KC and the Sunshine Band, plus an afternoon of free skijoring, and Sierra Nevada’s Winter Beer Camp.

Feb 14 | Cracker Plays Aspen Mountain
A perennial rock-country favorite, Cracker puts on a free concert in Aspen Mountain’s Gondola Plaza starting at 6 p.m., as part of the Aspen Snowmass Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series.

Feb 14–22 | Women’s Ski Week at Breckenridge
From lessons, fresh tracks, gear demos, and even après sips, Breckenridge puts the XX chromosomes first during its Women’s Ski Week.

Throughout February | Savor the Slopes
This Keystone food series rotates between each of the resort’s restaurants. Each event has a different (booze-centric) theme and tasting menu ($25), but all events begin at 4 p.m.

Pick your (delicious) poison:
Feb 2 The Ski Tip Lodge: Trends in Wine Making
Feb 4 Der Fondue Chessel: Beers of the World

HAPPENINGS

Heli-ski Telluride from Denver
You read that right. For the first time, Telluride Helitrax will offer heli-skiing from the Mile High City. The $2,650 package includes a charter flight from Centennial Airport to Telluride (and back), one day of heli-skiing, a night’s stay at Peaks Resort and Spa, and breakfast at the resort.

Epic Duds
Vail Resorts debuted its first retail store in Frisco in November, Epic Mountain Gear. In addition to all the gear a powderhound could want, the 10,000-square-foot store also presents the Vendor Lab, a rotating display that lets different companies showcase their newest technologies every month.
