For those trying to beat the tardy bell at East High School, life just got a little bit tougher. The reason? New World Cheese, located just across Colfax Avenue in the Lowenstein Cultureplex, has a menu so chock-full of choices, it makes deciding on a favorite a time-consuming affair.

Much more than just a cheese shop, Teresa St. Peter’s new business has something for everyone, including mac and cheese, San Marzano tomato soup, and innovative dishes like a Holland Family Farms’ Foenegreek Gouda waffle crowned with fig cloumage and maple sea salt butter. For dessert, the Chocolate Lab teams up with St. Peter to offer finales like s’mores on a stick and decadent triple truffle pie.

For the “shop” part of New World, cheeses are stored in glass cases and are organized on a chalkboard in categories like “fresh,” “soft-ripened,” “semifirm,” and “firm” and accouterments include an interesting selection of charcuterie, olives, crackers, and local jam. Ask for a taste—or several.

Want More? Sign up for a pairing class, or have New World come to your home to lead a private tasting.
