The Big Stir Festival
The macho male chef stereotype is so last century. And to prove it, nonprofit Les Dames d’Escoffier Colorado will celebrate more than two dozen female culinary leaders in Denver this week—including our very own 5280 food editor Patricia Kaowthumrong. After the awards ceremony, sample small bites from women-owned local haunts including Full Stop Bakery, Bibamba Chocolate, and Applejack Wines & Spirits; attend seminars on topics such as grain-to-bottle distilling; and sit in on a drag queen comedy set or tai chi demonstration. April 27; 1–5 p.m.; $65–$95

Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra Presents: Hitmakers of the ’60s and ’70s
Where you lead, we will follow, but we sure hope it’s to the Aurora Fox Arts Theatre to see this tribute to Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, and more. Luckily, the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra, along with vocalist Marion Powers, is hosting this ensemble-led concert, so old souls can hear masterpieces from the era live.
