17. Guard and Grace

New to the list

Guard and Grace is a refreshing addition to a dining scene that once was built on traditional steak houses. The space, which blends feminine lines and soft leather with dark, masculine woods, is the first clue that this place is different. The menu gracefully brings Troy Guard’s Hawaiian and Asian leanings into the fold, but he leaves steak alone: You can come here for a 22-ounce porterhouse, and it will be perfect. Or you can choose from entrées such as Guard’s signature black cod with charred broccolini and sweet soy butter. Either way, you’ll sit back in this gorgeous space and marvel at the modern steak house. 1801 California St., 303-293-8500, guardandgrace.com
