13. Mizuna

Last year 5

For diners seeking the graces of a white-tablecloth dinner, a brilliant wine list, and agile service, Mizuna always delivers. Here, the menu slants more classic than modern, more formal than casual, with dishes like beef Wellington, frog’s legs, and escargot. All are terrific (the pastry on the Wellington is glorious), but more than ever, Frank Bonanno’s flagship seems to be adhering to sure-footed French territory. That sentiment does not carry over to the cocktails, however—barman Austin Carson is pushing the drinks forward. Sit at the bar for the secret “reserve list” of choices (try the Scotch-forward Get My Honey, Come Back), or just be in the know. 225 E. Seventh Ave., 303-832-4778, mizunadenver.com
