Denver celebrated its 34th annual Pridefest over the weekend, an event dubbed one of the top 10 gay-pride events in the country, according to 9News. Roughly 100,000 people celebrated, as you’ll see in this 9News video and in various videos that have been uploaded to YouTube thus far, including a take from yesterday’s parade (below).
This year’s celebration held particular relevance for some revelers, who made reference to the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, widely regarded as the event that ignited the gay rights movement in the U.S. New York magazine marks the occasion with a package of articles on Stonewall’s 40th, including a piece that looks at today’s “gay generation gap” and its impact on the movement.
