When I tell people I’m a freelancer, they sometimes get the wrong idea, talking about how I must have lots of free time and forget what day it is.

As I reviewed my work responsibilities today, it didn’t look like that at all. I start work with a cup of coffee at 7:30 a.m., and I’ll try to end 12 hours later, if I’m lucky. Most people I know with more traditional, “9-to-5” jobs are pulling longer hours, too, meaning Hump Days are even more of a climb.

That’s why many of us are looking forward to that end-of-the-workday drink. Thankfully, Platte Park’s Hanson’s Grill & Tavern offers its happy hour until midnight tonight, meaning we can work late and still have an affordable beer in our hands at the end of the “day.” During happy hour—which starts at 11 a.m.—most wines by the glass are $3.50, and beers range from $2.25 to $3.

Finally, a reason to look forward to longer Wednesdays.
