Do Nothing for Peace...?

Sounds like a win-win situation for the slacker generation. But it actually does takes a small amount of effort, even for this event. The Shambhala Mountain Center, a yoga, meditation and Buddhism center in Red Feather Lakes west of Fort Collins, is hosting a unique fundraiser; you can pledge to meditate on compassion and inner peace for a certain amount of time per day, with the group goal set at 50,000 hours of peaceful meditation by January of 2005. "It's like Race for the Cure, meditation style," according the Do Nothing for Peace web site. You can meditate at home, at the center, at your desk (maybe not such a good idea). Not sure how to start? Newbies can sign up for an introductory meditation retreat this weekend, or the weekend of December 3rd-5th.
