Final Art Exhibition at the Buddha Tonight

It happened rather suddenly, even according to curator and artist Michelle Barnes, who has managed to whip up a new weekly art exhibit every Tuesday at the Funky Buddha for the past three years. She said that club owner Regas Cristou cancelled the night due to "economic reasons," which I rather suspect is a polite way of saying that he doesn't want to pay her anymore. It's a shame. The weekly art exhibits at the lounge created a fun artist salon atmosphere where writers (such as yours truly), poets, painters and other creative types gathered regularly to drink, chat, and network. Tonight's final exhibit features pastel portraits by Wendy Wray, and many featured artists from past exhibits are expected to attend.
