Town Lays Off Police Force

Antonito, Colorado, in the San Juan Mountains just north of the New Mexico border, is broke. So broke, it has laid off its entire police force. Crime isn't rampant in Antonito but there is the occasional bar fight. What happens now? Does Antonito get annexed by a local area? Or do its 800 citizens just have to learn how to get along?
