Super Babe Sunday

Here's an alternative to today's main attraction. (That would be the Super Bowl, just in case you've been under a rock.) Over at Comedy Works, Super Babe Sunday is aimed at women who could care less about football, but don't appreciate feeling left out of all the parties. They'll have comedians, a fashion show featuring clothing by Eve, Cira, Edward Dorian, and Hub, plus a clothing and jewelry trunk show set up in the lobby. Some of the trunk show items will be set aside for a silent auction; the auction proceeds benefit Denver SafeHouse for battered women. Doors open at 3 p.m., and the show kicks off today at 4. Tickets are $30 at the door. Unfortunately, I can't make it. I'm off to a traditional annual party at a friend's house, where the ribs are right on and the company is better than the haute-est couture.
