The Media and Ward Churchill

Dave Kopel writes in today's Rocky Mountain News ostensibly about the disparate media treatment given to the Ward Churchill controversy. What a misnomer. I'm surprised at Dave. This isn't an article about media support for Churchill vs. media disparagement of him. This is about who bashed Churchill and when, with praise for those who did it early, and criticism of those who didn't do it at all or came late to the party. Where is the mention of media and blogs who pointed out First Amendment and Academic Freedom issues? There is none. This is just another Churchill-bashing column. How can you write an article about media coverage of an issue when you only mention one side of the coverage? Kopel should change the first line of his piece from "Which Denver media noticed the Ward Churchill story first?" to "Which Denver media trashed Ward Churchill first?"
