Bombs Away In Colorado Politics

Two bombshells this weekend in Colorado politics: Chris Gates was ousted Saturday as Colorado Democratic party chairman. Though Gates helped lead to an unprecedented series of victories in the November election, he angered many with his treatment of Senate candidate Mike Miles. Gates was replaced by Pat Waak, a Miles supporter. In a separate development, U.S. Rep. Bob Beauprez has decided to run for governor, according to the ColoradoPols website. ColoradoPols's report is based on unnamed sources (and, indeed, the authors of ColoradoPols themselves are unnamed), but the site has proven reliable since coming online several months ago.
