National Magazine Awards

Well, we didn't win. Still, as they say, it was an honor just to be nominated. Twice. And like a wise woman said to me this afternoon, if you're gonna get your butt kicked, it might as well be by the New Yorker. After the emotional roller coaster of the last few weeks, Max and I are both feeling a bit drained. But it was a helluva ride, culiminating in today's luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria. We got to chat with New Yorker editor David Remnick (boy, did that guy have a good day) and Vanity Fair's Graydon Carter (him, not such a good day). And we got to see that uncomfortable ankle bracelet peaking out from Martha Stewart's pants leg. Not too shabby, huh? I'll try to write more later.
