It wasn't quite as bad as when they announced that the Pope had died a day before he actually did, but the Rocky Mountain News had to issue a pretty big "never mind" this morning. At 9:38 a.m., the News broadcast an urgent email to subscribers:
BREAKING NEWS: Coffman to resign, serve in Iraq State Treasurer Mike Coffman announced today that he is going to return to the U.S. Marine Corps to assist in establishing a stable government in Iraq.
Twenty minutes later, a second email explained that Coffman is actually taking a temporary leave and will return to his office after completing nine months in Iraq. Oops.
