Colorado Groups Praise Salazar

A coalition of religious and civic groups came together yesterday in praise of Senator Ken Salazar's support for the filibuster.
"This is a coordinated attack on the American judiciary by a well-organized group of religious extremists," said the Rev. Peter Morales, a Unitarian Universalist minister and representative of the Colorado Interfaith Alliance. "This is the action of an American Taliban - a group of reactionary religious zealots who are seeking to impose their religious views on a nation by using the power of government."
The groups included:
Colorado League of Women Voters, NARAL Pro- Choice Colorado, the Colorado Interfaith Alliance and the Sierra Club.
Focus on the Family, the religous group led by evangelist James Dobson, responded:
"This is more name-calling from the left," Minnery said. "If the left had an argument, they would use it."
