Crashing Prom

Do you love the 80's? Can't get enough of The Breakfast Club, Risky Business, Duran Duran, Cyndi Lauper, Air Supply, Poison, Boy George, and the like? It's OK. Many of us share your guilty pleasure. And I have the perfect place for you to work that 80's Madonna look or the new wave eyeliner-and-spiky hair groove. Hit Crashing Prom 2005 on Saturday. This is prom for adults, so if your prom experience sucked the first time around, you can, like, make it so totatally awesome this time. I've heard that some people are getting way into it, with limos, hotel rooms, big dinners planned, and even bigger hair and poufy skirts in the works. Huge bows on the girls' butts are a plus, as are skinny ties and Miami Vice pastels for the guys. You are even encouraged to campaign for Prom King and Queen if you're feeling ambitious. (Damn overachievers!) The details: Saturday night, at the Denver Turnverein, open bar, 80's prom attire (optional), retro remixes all night, to benefit the women and children's shelter The Gathering Place. Tickets are $90 for a couple and $50 for a single at www.crashingprom.com. Be there or be square.
