- LoDo Music Festival - June 17-18
The 13th (and reportedly final) year for this annual celebration of music, food, culture, and a little borough called LoDo. More than 30 local and national artists, including The Radiators, The Samples, Super Diamond (the fabulous Neil Diamond cover band), and Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra. Friday 5 p.m. to midnight; Saturday noon to midnight. Festival entrance is at 21st and Larimer streets in the Ballpark neighborhood. $10 per day. - Telluride Bluegrass Festival June 16-19
This little-festival-that-could is known across the country as one of the best, and this summer's line-up is no exception. A veritable who's who in the country/bluegrass/folk sceneEmmylou Harris, Wilco, Jewel, Yonder Mountain String Band, Peter Rowan, Gillian Welch, Bela Fleck, Alison Krauss, Sam Bush, Earl Scruggs, and Hot Buttered Rum (don't know that last one, but like the name)you'll be sure to have a foot-stompin' good time. - 33rd Annual Cherry Blossom Festival June 18-19
Right here in Denvernot D.C.the Tri-State/Denver Buddhist Temple sponsors this two-day celebration of Japanese culture. Sing karaoke, eat teriyaki, practice Aikido, watch, shop, learn, and discuss everything Japanese. Saturday to Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sakura Square, Lawrence Street between 19th and 20th streets. Free. - Chili Pepper & Brew Fest June 17-19
Join the folks over in Aspen as they host the International Chili Society's (yes, there is a society) regional chili cook-offs (and tastings...mmm) and microbrew seasonal-ale competition. This spicy weekend also features the musical stylings of Michael Franti & Spearhead and singer/songwriter Keller Williams. Sounds like mouthwatering goodness.
