Congress Refuses to Admonish Air Force Academy

Yesterday, Democrats in Congress yesterday tried to add a provision to the military spending bill that would have admonished the Air Force Academy for religious proselytizing. It was defeated, and prompted a Republican Congressman, John Hostettler of Indiana, to accuse Democrats of "denigrating and demonizing Christians." Democrats then asked that Hostettler retract his remarks and be censured. Democrats didn't go away empty-handed though.
The House instead approved a provision requiring an Air Force report to Congress on the steps it was taking to promote religious tolerance.
And Hostettler agreed to retract one comment.
