Colorado Senators Weigh in On O'Connor

Colorado Senators Wayne Allard and Ken Salazar commented Friday on the retirement announcement of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor:
Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colo., said he would ask Bush to nominate somebody with experience and knowledge of issues of particular interest in the West, such as water and other natural resources. "I think the views of our Constitution and our laws is informed by the upbringing that one has, and I think in her case her upbringing in Arizona gave her a sense of the individual ruggedness and independence of the West," added Sen. Ken Salazar, a freshman Democrat from Colorado.
