Denver Jury Duty Goes Hi-Tech

Denver sends out 700 jury summons a week for trials scheduled in its 38 courtrooms. If you've every gotten one, you're familiar with the drill. Show up and wait. For hours. And then get sent home. That's about to change next week.

On Monday, Denver courts are launching a phone service and Web site so potential jurors can find out the night before whether they will be expected to report for duty the next day.

The website is Denverjury.org. You can also phone (720) 865-9100 and press 7 for a pre-recorded message.
