Marilyn Musgrave Backs Off Marriage Amendment

After an unexpectedly close reelection last year in her heavily Republican district, Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, sponsor of the anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment, has said she is holding off on reintroducing her proposal. Musgrave is considered vulnerable in 2006 despite representing a conservative district. It's not that Musgrave has had a change of heart. This is just political expediency. She expects to reintroduce the controversial bill at some point -- once she's safely reelected.
