Rally for Katrina Victims Thursday

Please join 5280 and members of the Colorado General Assembly from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday on the west steps of the State Capitol for a bi-partisan rally to show Colorado's support for victims of Hurricane Katrina, including those now relocated to Lowry. This will be one of the first events where you can contribute goods in addition to cash, something many of our readers have been asking for. From the official announcement:

Please bring clothes, alarm clocks, toiletries, toys, phone cards, gas cards and anything else you are willing to donate. You can also donate cash or checks made payable to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army. In addition, you can sign up to either volunteer for the Red Cross or donate blood to Bonfils (http://www.bonfils.org).

In addition to 5280 and the General Assembly, the rally is also being sponsored by the Red Cross, Salvation Army, 9 News, KGNU Radio, and The Colorado Statesman.
