A new poll of Coloradans shows support for the war and President Bush dropping.

....just more than a third of those questioned [say] that they strongly believe it was right for the U.S. to go to war. Also, more than half disapproved of the job that President Bush is doing, a finding that mirrors those of national polls.... The poll, conducted this week for the Rocky Mountain News and CBS 4, found that 36 percent of the 500 likely voters questioned totally supported the war, compared with 55 percent in December 2003.

Another interesting facet of the poll is how low terrorism rated as a priority, both here and across the country:

14 percent of Coloradans and 10 percent of those questioned nationally saying it should be a priority.

It's not going to be long before President Bush moves into lame duck status. With his latest clash with the radical right over Harriet Miers' nomination to the Supreme Court, the apparent likely indictment of some high level officials in his Administration and the economy and handling of Katrina still a sore spot with many Americans, the Bush presidential legacy, as well as the 2006 and 2008 elections, seem to be in doubt.
