Table Talk for October 26

The price is right...Bargain hunters, head to Lakewood. Cafe Bisque, now open for dinner, discounts its lengthy wine list by half on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, which means you can enjoy a decent bottle of wine for a mere $12. Pair that with Chef Alex Gurevich's reasonably priced dinner entrées ($13 to $23), and you've found yourself a gourmet meal deal—especially when you're choosing from dishes such as beef tornedos served with a caramelized onion risotto tart and black-pepper cabarnet jus or the white shrimp and basil farfalle with roasted shallots, white wine, and tomatoes. 224 Union Blvd., Lakewood, 303-985-4151, www.cafebisque.com. Open for business...Despite rumors to the contrary, D'Eggos—Highland's breakfast spot for the last five years—has moved, not folded. Citing landlord difficulties, owner Jenny Madrigal moved shop and opened Jenny from D'Eggos just down the road at 32nd and Clay. The menu hasn't changed but the new space is bigger—and Madrigal still plans on covering the walls with children's artwork. We'll see you there for bottomless cups of coffee and fluffy pancakes doused in butter and syrup. 2643 W. 32nd Ave., 303-458-7500. Trick or treat...A handful of Halloween happenings:
  • Stock up on spooky goodies in the shapes of pumpkins, bats, and witch's hats from Rheinländer Bakery. Our favorite of the bunch: The buttery, iced ghost cookies. 5721 Olde Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, 303-467-1810.
  • On Monday, Oct. 31, An orange and black outfit and $25 buys you a chef's choice Italian dinner and three drinks at Via. Tax and tip not included. Call for reservations. 1801 Wynkoop St., 303-295-1488.
  • Three Capitol Hill bed-and breakfasts have teamed up together to host the first-annual Victorian Halloween Progressive Tea. You pick your starting point (Adagio B&B, Castle Marne B&B, or Holiday Chalet B&B) and at each spot, you'll snack on treats such as witches brew punch, bat-wiches, pumpkin bread, and chocolate-spider cupcakes. Take a tour of each decorated "haunted" house before moving along to the next spot. Tea party starts at 1 p.m. sharp. Tickets are $25, call for reservations. Adagio, 1430 Race St., 303-370-6911; Castle Marne, 1572 Race St., 303-331-0621; Holiday Chalet, 1820 E. Colfax Ave., 303-321-9975.
