You Read It Here First

Bill Husted kicks off his Denver Post column today with this odd sentence:
There are more Colorado stories in national mags than 5280.
None of us here are quite sure what that's supposed to mean. But I'm guessing that what Bill meant to say was "National magazines sure are running a lot of stories that have already appeared in 5280." Carmelo Anthony? Kate Meyers' piece in our November issue was a lot more in-depth than what ran in December's Esquire (read ours for yourself here). Denver author J.R. Moehringer? We raved about his best-selling memoir "The Tender Bar" in our December issue. And how about Boulder's Lara Merriken, whom Outside magazine salutes this month for creation of the Larabar? We first wrote about Merriken and her all-natural energy bars way back in June 2003.

He should learn how to write in the active voice so we might actually be able to understand what he's saying. Or at least put a preposition in there or something. Maybe he could actually stop to read 5280 once in awhile too.

Good comeback. Also, 5280's blog almost exclusively covers Colorado issues.
