The House Is A-Rockin'

I popped into one of my old favorite haunts last night, after a fairly lengthy absence. And much to my surprise, the cute little Victorian that houses Cafe Cero was totally rocking. The new owners have introduced live music six nights a week, and it's brought a whole new life to the cool space. It's not as romantic as it once was, when I used to drop by weekly for wine and Italian food, but it's a lot busier. (Cero was often rather sparsely populated before.) And of course, it will always have the Blue Room lounge and lots of great nooks for semi-private trysts. The weekly lineup: Monday -- The Hornbuckle Brothers blues jam Tuesday -- Ricky and the Compilation Band w/special guests Wednesday -- The Mercury Project jam session (members rotate) Thursday -- The Love Royale (R&B/Funk/hip hop with members of Yo Flaco, The Motet and the Mercury Project w/ special guests) Friday -- local bands, all genres Saturday -- Reggae night hosted by Sire from 99.5 the mountain and Rasta Experience on Radio 1190. Sunday --"Another wasted Sunday" punk/lounge dj night I think I'll have to add Cero back onto my short list of favorite watering holes.
