10th Anniversary of Overturning Amendment 2
Saturday will be the 10th anniversary of the overturning of Amendment 2. There are two special events scheduled if you'd like to attend:
The first is a breakfast with former Gov. Roy Romer at the Capitol Hill Mansion Bed and Breakfast. To attend the breakfast, please RSVP right away to 720-261-1181
Following the breakfast, there will be a rally on the west steps of the state capitol building at 12:30 p.m. Details are here.
The Rocky Mountain News last week had a long feature on what's happened in the gay community and culture since the Amendment was overturned. [Via A Life Occasionally Less Ordinary.]

Congrats on the 10th anniversary! Its not fair on the part of Wayne to impose ideas on others. Its their life and let them live the way they wanted to.

If its a so called democratic country, then what abt the equal rights for all? Its simply not fair Wayne Allard, better not to ban gay marriage. They too have the rights to enjoy their lives with whom so ever they want.

I remember being at the Democractic Convention here in Denver when Amendment 2 was voted for. I recall a flurry of people taking over the stage in protest, despite those of us partying over, then Democrat, Ben Nighthorse Campbell's victory election to the U.S. Senate. While it was a celebration for supporters of Campbell, it was not a good night for the gay community. And in turn, not a good night for those of us that support equal rights of ALL people.
It's even more sad that on the 10th Anniversary of overturning this discriminating amendment Campbell's replacement in the Senate, Wayne Allard, has gotten the ok for a proposed amendment to ban gay marriage.
