Jefferson County prosecutors announced today that criminal charges will not be filed against 7th District Congressional candidate Peggy Lamm for not changing the address on her driver's license and voter's registration when she moved from Superior to Arvada in the 7th Congressional District.

"Following an exhaustive investigation, the district attorney's Office has determined that based on the totality of the circumstances in the case, there is no reasonable likelihood that she would be convicted," said Scott Storey, district attorney for Jefferson and Gilpin counties.

All along Peggy has maintained that she lives in both places:

Lamm told KMGH-TV she was living at both the Arvada and Superior addresses because her son was in his last year of high school in Superior. "I live both places. And I have said that all along. I'm a single mom, and I'm trying really hard to do a good job raising my son," she said.

This was a politically motivated complaint from the beginning in my opinion. I'm glad prosecutors decided against taking it any further. May 25 is the deadline for Peggy and Herb Rubenstein to come up with 1,000 signatures to gain a place on the 7th District ballot for the August 7 primary. Ed Perlmutter went though the assembly process and is assured top placement on the primary ballot. The winner will face Republican Rick O'Donnell in November.
