CU Ethnic Studies Professor Ward Churchill has filed his response to last week's report finding he engaged in plagiarism and other scholarly misdeeds. Shorter version: He will not be going quietly into the night. He denounced the allegations against him as unfounded.
They were "simply a pretext to penalize constitutionally protected speech."A final decision is expected in June, after which, if Gov. Owens and Bill O'Reilly have their way, we won't have Ward Churchill to kick around any more. We'll only have a lawsuit against CU for damages to Churchill as a result of his firing.
