I wrote last week about a SurveyUSA poll showing Democrat Ed Perlmutter with a 20-point lead over Peggy Lamm in their primary race in congressional district seven. I found the poll to be more than a little unbelievable for a variety of reasons, most notably that it just didn’t make sense that any candidate in such a heated primary could have opened up a 20 point lead with one week to go.

Today, SurveyUSA released a new poll that shows Perlmutter with a 12-point lead over Lamm. Did Lamm really pick up eight points in one week on Perlmutter, or was Perlmutter never really that far ahead to begin with? I’d say it was the latter.
