Mystery Science Theater Goes Live

This is for fans of the old Mystery Science Theater 3000 show, and/or people who simply like to watch bad movies and make fun of them. The Mile High Sci Fi group is hosting monthly gatherings at the Oriental Theater. "Turning bad movies into great comedy" is their motto; think sketch-comedy-meets-B-cinema and you've got it down. This week, it's the campy 80's flick Flash Gordon, which should provide plenty of fodder for snarky comments. See, the $5 ticket gets you more than just the movie. Local comedians Matt Vogl and Harrison Rains will provide a running commentary full of wisecracks, jokes, and your basic smartass remarks. Sound like fun? Hit the Oriental (44th & Tennyson) this Thursday night at 9 p.m.
