Earlier this week I wrote about the nasty rumor that Rock Island was closing. Turns out that the rumor was off base, but the real deal is that the club will do a "soft closing," according to owner David Clamage, after which he plans an entire remodel of the builing at 1614 15th St. He basically plans to gut the place and reopen again... in 10 months or more. So, if you're in the mood to Dance As Loud As You Want, you'd better hit it on or before October 27, when it goes dark for many months.
