Denver has lucked out. The much anticipated big weekend snowfall passed us by. DIA is running on its normal schedule. The foothills, Eastern Plains, Southeast Colorado and Kansas aren't so fortunate. Mayor Hickenlooper's handling of the two storms made the Washington Post yesterday. I'd say his far more deft handling of the second storm combined with the luck of Mother Nature will earn him a pass on the first. If the sun stays out and melts the ice, New Year's Eve should be a festive night in Denver. After all, the past ten days should go down in the record books as causing the worst bout of urban cabin fever in history.
