Tancredo: Illegal Immigration Threatens Western Civilization

Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo continues to ratchet up the immigration debate with ridiculous hyperboles. His latest, in Arizona yesterday:

Presidential candidate and U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo told supporters gathered at a private ranch here Friday that American culture, as well as the fate of western civilization, is being threatened by illegal immigration.

....“There’s an issue that is so much broader than all that, so much more serious. It is the issue of our culture itself, and whether we will survive.”

Then, he warned his audience that what happened at an elementary school in 2004 in Beslan, Russia, ("where Islamic terrorists from Chechnya killed more than 300 people") could happen here:

“I tell you this story for a reason,” he said. “As I come down here through Sierra Vista toward the border, I am telling you that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that guarantees that the same kind of thing can’t happen here in the United States.”

It does to me, Tom.

Matt, it's called "cross-posting." I just added it to the post. TalkLeft is where I blog on national issues, 5280 is where I blog on local issues. Sometimes they overlap and I put those posts on both blogs. That's what I did here.

Good to know that 5280 endorses the opinions of biased blogger "talk left" not to mention publishes blog articles word for word from talk left's blog.

Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Richard Skinner issued a statement denying his department "lied to Congress" about the Ramos-Compean case, but Texas' representatives in Congress aren't buying it. Skinner said affirmations from his staff to Congress that his office had investigative reports substantiating its claim Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean "wanted to shoot a Mexican" in the Feb. 17, 2005, incident with drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila were just "misstatements." But four Texas Republican congressman or staff members who attended the Sept. 26 meeting are rejecting Skinner's explanation. --------------------- There is a nationwide campaign to pardon both agents because of government lies. Do you really think he was an "unarmed drug dealer"????

"If some people are bothered by France, they shouldn't hesitate to leave a country they don't love," Sarkozy said last weekend, echoing a slogan of Jean- Marie Le Pen, the anti-immigrant leader of the far-right National Front: "France, love it or leave it." It does not even make sense to the French! Sarkozy just won the French presidency with his views on immigration. I assume you would throw into jail all the French policemen trying to stop immigrant rioters. Remember that the muslim youth do not want to learn the French language. Unless you do not think France is part of Western civilization? "ridiculous hyperboles"???? Are you just not ready for the harsh truth??
