The Tonight Show Comes to Denver

A camera crew from "The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno" is in town filming segments on stuff to do in Denver during next summer's Democratic National Convention. Yesterday, they filmed man-in-the-street inerviews on the 16th Street Mall and Larimer Square, before heading to Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret to catch the Demented Divas comedy drag show. Before the show, Tonight Show correspondent Mo Rocca interviewed all four of the girls, including Nuclia Waste, our town's triple-nippled queen of comedy, who dispensed fashion tips to the Democratic candidates. It remains to be seen whether or not Barack Obama will take Nukie's advic and start wearing a platinum blonde wig. Today, the crew will be interviewing Mayor John Hickenlooper and Jack Weil, the 106-year-old CEO of Rockmount Ranch Wear. Look for the segment to air sometime in the next month. (With any luck, I'll figure out how to post some pictures from last night's festivities before then.)
