Qwest Dumps McClain Finlon

The big news in advertising this week is that Qwest has dumped Denver-based McClain Finlon in favor of Draftfcb, a Chicago-based firm. Andy Bossleman has a solid roundup, as well as making the painful point that neither of the dailies seemed willing to broach:
McClain reported $234,353,851 in 2006 billings and 200 employees in the Denver Business Journal's 2007 rank of Denver ad agencies (June 29 - July 5 2007). Deducing that nearly half of McClain's billings came from Qwest, a number of locals are likely to lose their jobs (half would be about 100).
