DNCC Announces Credentialed National Bloggers for Convention

I've just been notified by the DNCC that TalkLeft and I have been credentialed as a blogger at the Democratic Convention in August. I'm very excited because now I can blog for both TalkLeft and 5280 right from the convention hall. As one of the credentialed bloggers for the Boston DNC in 2004, I know how exciting it is to cover the convention live and to be in the hall during the evening speeches. Here's what we get:
Organizers also announced that blogs credentialed by the DNCC will have access to a dedicated "Blogger Lounge" inside the Pepsi Center, equipped with televisions, technology resources and workspace to facilitate their reporting. All bloggers will have access to the Convention floor, press briefing areas, caucus meetings, filing centers and other auxiliary events open to members of the media.
As background, a few weeks ago the DNCC named the 50 state bloggers (1 blog from each state that concentrates on state politics)for the convention. Today the DNCC selected the national, niche and video bloggers who will be credentialed. Here is the DNC announcement. The full list of credentialed blogs, including the 50 state bloggers, is here. Bloggers should know that credentialing isn't the only way to cover the convention.
A group of Denver-based organizations is creating this blog-friendly media center near the Convention site. "The Big Tent" is a project of ProgressNow, the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado, The Wright Group and folks at Daily Kos. This media facility will operate throughout the week of the Convention just a few blocks from the Pepsi Center. You'll need to sign up to receive information and access to the facility. .... DailyKos, ProgressNow, the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado, and the Wright Group invite you to "The Big Tent" in Denver! The Big Tent will be your blogging / new media home away from home throughout the Democratic Convention, conveniently located within walking distance of both the Pepsi Center and the Convention Center. Participants in The Big Tent will enjoy a WiFi-enabled, air-conditioned blogging/new media lounge, "The Big Stage" with some of the most well known faces in the non-profit and political world, as well as food, drinks, entertainment, and much more.
