Skim cocktail menus around town, and chances are you’ll find St. Germain and Elderflower Liqueur making appearances. In case you’re wondering, they are one and the same, and the artisanal French liqueur, which is made from elderflower blossoms, is one of the hottest ingredients behind the bar. Steuben’s bar manager Sean Kenyon says the last couple months have seen an explosion of St. Germain sales, with the restaurant going through a case a week. If you haven’t tasted the delicately flavored and refreshing cordial, expect a hint of pear and floral essences.

Tempted? Sip on these:

• Vita‘s St. Ginger cocktail with St. Germain elderflower liqueur, Skyy vodka, muddled ginger, cilantro, lime, and a splash of ginger ale

• Centro‘s El Sandier with Stoli O, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, watermelon juice, and Cava

• Rioja‘s St. Germain cocktail with St. Germain liqueur, sparkling wine, house-made grapefruit bitters, and lemon peel

• Steuben’s St. Gingermain with Plymouth Gin, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, fresh-squeezed lemon, and ginger
