Anna Sui

The Gist: Anna Sui's spring collection draws from both Latin folk and Spanish toreador influences, and throws in a little rock-chick for a fun and totally hip cultural mash-up. Featuring: Sui's a cultural mix master, and her vision of spring offers an array of bright colors, prints, and folk-inspired embroideries for full and flirty skirts, sundresses, shift-dresses, tunics, waistcoats, peasant blouses, and cardigans with bras peeking out from underneath. For the Spanish-style closing, Sui chose black lace, beading, and fringe for the heavily worked matador jackets. The oversize crochet and beaded necklaces donned by nearly all of the models are fabulous, and the studded gladiator sandals add some punk-girl cool. The "It" Factor For Denver:

The opening number of a cropped jacket and matching short, as well as many of the colorful shift-dresses, and printed skirts. Look For It Next Spring At: MAX, 3039 East Third Avenue, 303-321-4949.
