Halloween for Foodies

Trick-or-treating after the age of 15 usually meets disapproval, but donning a costume (or at least black and orange) and downing pumpkin-flavored delights has no age limit. For a hopping party this Halloween, stop by Parallel Seventeen for a cirque-themed shindig, where pumpkin-spice ale takes the edge off the costume competition. Also tonight, Boulder's Mateo serves a harvest supper, with acclaimed master sommelier Richard Betts managing the wine pours. Saturday and Sunday, Centro celebrates the international version of the holiday with its Dia de los Muertos cocktails, roasted pumpkin soup, and succulent rotisserie game hen. Parallel 17, 1600 E. 17th Ave., 303-399-0988 Mateo, 1837 Pearl St., Boulder, 303-443-7766 Centro, 950 Pearl St., Boulder, 303-442-7771
