Representative Diana DeGette has withdrawn her name from consideration as the replacement for Senator Ken Salazar in the U.S. Senate. In her announcement, she says her current leadership positions as Chief Deputy Whip and Vice Chair of Energy and Commerce are the best ways for her to serve Colorado.

New Restaurant: Frank Bonanno's Bones

Tonight marks the opening of Bones, chef Frank Bonanno's newest restaurant. Located on the corner of Grant Street and Seventh Avenue (conveniently between his established eateries Mizuna and Luca D'Italia), this affordable noodle bar dishes up savory duck confit egg rolls, candy-like black cod and pork belly tempura, and addictive steamed buns stuffed with either suckling pig or (our fave) pork belly.

Best Kids' Bet: Noon New Year's at the Children's Museum

Just because 8 p.m. is bedtime, Denver munchkins shouldn't have to miss out on the New Year'' revelry. Simply set their clocks to Chinese time (14 hours ahead of Mountain Standard Time). Starting at 10 a.m. on New Year's Eve, the Children's Museum hosts a ball drop, with plenty of confetti, cookies, and Bubble Wrap for making firework sounds. The merriment repeats itself every hour on the hour through 1 p.m. 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Restaurant Redux: From Swimclub 32 to El Camino

When Swimclub 32's uber-hip, small-plate-and-big-bar menu had run its course, owners Grant Gingerich and Chris Golub didn't shut it down; they reinvented it. Now called El Camino, this Highlands Square joint features a menu of Mexican staples--prepared with natural ingredients and served on no-frills paper plates--including nachos, tacos, burritos, and quesadillas.

Fainting Goat

Guinness, Smithwick's, and corned beef sliders abound at this Irish bar. Grab a drink on the rooftop bar. Sundays are trivia night.
