Former Denver Nugget Paralyzed

Former Denver Nuggets' first-round pick Rodney Rogers was paralyzed last week after falling off an all-terrain vehicle in North Carolina. Rogers, who played 12 seasons for seven teams, is paralyzed from the neck down. He is 37 years old. Rogers was the ninth pick overall in the 1993 NBA draft. He played two seasons with the Nuggets, and averaged 12.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during his final season with Denver in 1994-1995. He won the NBA's Sixth Man Award in 1999-2000, when he played for Phoenix. Widely considered one of the league's best bench players during his career, Rogers playing days ended after the 2004-2005 season. Rogers was recently transferred to a clinic in Atlanta, where he will undergo rehabilitation.
