Carmelo Anthony Out for About a Month

Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony wore a red splint on his right hand yesterday as he explained that he'd be unable to play for three to four weeks because of the injury he sustained following a foul in a game against Indiana earlier this week. That's according to The Denver Post, which notes Anthony is eager to heal his third non-displaced metacarpal fracture. Anthony is averaging 21.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game and is optimistic about returning sooner, perhaps after two weeks or five games. If he sits out a month, he'll miss 11 games. He already missed three earlier this year because of a problem with his right elbow.
